Coffee can be detrimental to your health because it is typically loaded with caffeine, sugar, and milk that are not good for the body. These ingredients cause inflammation which results in diseases such as diabetes, high cholesterol, obesity, Alzheimer’s disease, depression, Parkinson’s disease, etc.

Alternative drinks are healthy beverages that offer nutrients that are essential to our bodies. They provide antioxidants that help protect cells from free radical damage and anti-inflammatories which help fight against diseases like cancer and arthritis. Antioxidants also slow the aging process of the body. So what exactly are some of these healthy alternatives to coffee?

1) Tea

Tea is a great alternative to coffee because it contains less caffeine than coffee but still gives you that little extra energy in the afternoon when you are feeling sluggish. There are so many different kinds of teas out there – black, white, green, and herbal – so experiment until you find one with just the right amount of kick.

2) Apple cider vinegar

Apple cider vinegar has long been known as a “health tonic” due to its numerous health benefits. Apple Cider Vinegar can be consumed by itself or mixed with water. However, if you don’t like the taste of Apple Cider Vinegar on its own, try mixing it with some freshly squeezed lemon juice and honey for a deliciously sweet n’ sour drink that will help fight the afternoon slump.

3) Caffeine-free herbal coffee

If you just can’t part with your morning cup of joe, consider switching to caffeine-free herbal coffee. Many brands on the market offer some great alternatives to regular coffee without any negative side effects like jitters or dehydration.

4) Coconut water

Coconut water is very popular these days because it’s not only delicious -since it tastes like natural coconut juice-, but it is also full of vitamins and minerals! It contains plenty of potassium which helps restore your body after a workout. Also, since coconut water has zero sugar and zero calories, you can enjoy this beverage guilt-free.

5) Coconut milk ice cream (or any other flavor)

Another creamy dessert alternative! Coconut milk ice cream is a delicious way to wind down at the end of the day. It has less sugar than regular ice cream, but you can get creative by mixing flavors or making your own. This healthy treat will help curb that sweet tooth in no time.

6) Dark chocolate (at least 70% cocoa)

The next time you feel like nibbling on something sweet after dinner, try eating some dark chocolate instead! Chocolate contains caffeine (much like coffee), but it also has antioxidants which are great for your body. Just make sure you pick up some dark chocolate that’s at least 70% cocoa if you want all of those health benefits; otherwise, stick with milk or white chocolate to avoid all of the calories found in dark chocolate.

7) Turmeric Golden Milk

Golden milk is a drink made from either almond or coconut milk combined with turmeric powder, giving it golden tones. Golden milk is beneficial to people’s health because turmeric contains curcumin, which aids the digestive tract and reduces inflammation of the joints. Additionally, it works as energy by improving liver function.

8) Vegetable juice

Just because you cut out the caffeine doesn’t mean you have to cut out vegetables altogether! Many vegetables are caffeinated but also have plenty of antioxidants, vitamins, and minerals. Try beets, carrots, or ginger for some great alternatives to coffee! You can easily sneak some veggies into your diet by having a glass of vegetable juice.

9) Fresh-pressed fruit juice

Freshly squeezed fruit juice is the healthiest way to start your day because it contains all of the natural juices found in fruit. It’s best to experiment with different combinations so you can find out which one tastes the best, but here are some great suggestions for inspiration: orange juice mixed with pineapple juice, lemonade with apple cider vinegar, or grapefruit juice with watermelon.

10) Matcha Tea

Matcha tea is powdered green tea that has been used in Japanese culture for centuries. This type of tea mainly consists of caffeine, but it also contains L-Theanine, which aids the body’s response to stress and promotes relaxation. Research shows a link between L-Theanine and serotonin production, resulting in lowered anxiety, reduced depression, and improved memory function.

Last but not last, red clover tea is made from dried red clover flowers and can be drunk hot or cold. It contains nutrients that help improve blood and bone health, balances hormones, and increases immune function. It’s also beneficial to the digestive system because it is rich in fiber and can help reduce ulcers caused by H.pylori infection and intestinal inflammation.
