Any leftover cranberry sauce from the holidays is liquid gold! Not only is it great for pairing (again) with Thanksgiving or Christmas leftovers, but it’s also a fabulous ingredient that adds a sweet and saucy touch to almost any recipe. From a creamy cranberry smoothie to a sweet and savory cranberry breakfast hash, here are some creative ways to ensure it doesn’t go to waste.

Baked Brie with Cranberry Sauce: This stunning appetizer is incredibly easy to make. Just top a Brie round with a few dollops of cranberry sauce and bake for 8 to 10 minutes, or until the cheese is all melty.

Cranberry Smoothie: Although this smoothie calls for fresh cranberries, you can swap it with half a cup of cranberry sauce. And if you’d like it a bit thicker, add extra Greek yogurt into the mix.

Shaved Brussels Sprouts Salad with Cranberries: Omit the dried cranberries and make a cranberry vinaigrette with your leftover sauce. You can reference this raspberry vinaigrette and swap the fresh raspberries with cranberries instead.

More Leftover Cranberry Sauce Ideas

  • Classic Thanksgiving Plate: If you have leftover turkey, roast chicken, or honey-baked ham from the holidays, this is the perfect way to recreate Thanksgiving or Christmas on a plate with leftover sauce. Especially if you have leftover mashed potatoes as well.
  • Cranberry Meatballs: Instead of using marinara sauce, coat these juicy meatballs with cranberry sauce! It’ll be perfect for a sweet and savory dinner.
  • Cranberry Overnight Oats: Add a spoonful of the sauce at the bottom of your jar and top it with the base recipe for my overnight oats.
  • Cranberry Chia Parfait: Create a beautifully layered parfait with yogurt with Greek yogurt and chia pudding, similar to this pomegranate chia pudding parfait.

How To Store Cranberry Sauce

If you’re not using your cranberry sauce right away to make these recipes, here are a few storage tips to ensure your sauce doesn’t go bad!

  • Store in the fridge: Store the sauce in a sealed container in the fridge. It will last for one to two weeks.
  • Freeze for later: If you’d like to keep the sauce for the future, you can freeze it in a freezer-safe container for up to 3 months! When ready to enjoy, thaw the container in the fridge overnight.
