Don't do what you don't like to get what you want to look like. Do what you like and you'll get there naturally.
This guy obviously go to the gym and lift weight so why is wasting people time?
Swimmers are fat by gym stadards. Especially long distance swimmers, it´s not uncommon for them to have 25-30% bodyfat. Helps with buoyancy and heat retention. Not even Michael Phelps has a defined sixpack.
Have you ever seen a bodybuilder try swimming? They sink like a stone.
I’m gonna disagree with this one. The swimming body is a real thing and it results in that v taper slim torso look. Imo it is a distinct build that is different than a bodybuilding physique. But absolutely you should still lift weights. Imho doing cardio only with swimming is the most ideal form of cardio because it’s low impact and it does give you an awesome v taper
However one major drawback to swimming is the chlorine pools. Bathing in chlorine is absolutely not good for your health. Based on that alone I would stay away from pools with chlorine in them at any cost. Stay away from chlorine pools, seriously. But they do have non-chlorinated pools out there. They do exist in some gyms if you can find them. And if you can find them it’s absolutely worth the trouble to only do cardio in a non-chlorinated pool. Over the life of an athlete if you can minimize impact on joints and ligaments by doing non-impact cardio it’s fully with the trouble
It’s good to do both
Good analysis
my friend plays basketball in league. He is 188cm.His dad is 174 and his mother isn't also tall.Basketball can help to become tall,
Bro taper isn’t gonna make them swim better 😂
Basketball in FACT MAKES YOU TALLER…its up to your genetics to do all the work once you start early.
When he said swimmers physique he meant a physique of a typical professinal swimmer, not a physique made in the pool.
I generally like your videos but im a swimmer and this video is bullshit sorry
It does make sense. Gym people who don't swim always look to bulky and not long enough. When I cut the pool to grow the booty I got that swole look in more places than one. What the video maker is saying isn't true in my experience. I am gifted genetically tho and been swimming for many years but for real swimmers physiques are waaaaay better than lifting only physiques.
of course you can build muscles by swimming, or at least i can

I know this is an old video, but if anyone sees this I want to help clear the year-old air. I'm a swimmer, who is pretty competitive statewide.
Swimmers don't train in the gym to build muscles, we train to improve our muscle groups that we use in the water. We don't do weightlifting to look more buff, and it really doesn't improve our muscles too much. Swimming, when done at a high level and very frequently (2+ times a day) can produce very lean muscle. I know a bunch of guys on my team that don't do any weights but still have very impressive physique. I'm not trying to argue, just trying to help people. 👍
I played so much basketball as kid hoping to grow taller, it never happened. 😅 ironically I was a decent enough swimmer.
Have to disagree here.
Just 5 days on vacation, constantly swimming and working out in the pool and ocean, my body looks amazing, better than just the gym.
😊
Swim a 200 lil bro
Idk 💩 about swimming 🏊♂️ (I'm horrible at it) but I know they workout in the gym 🏋🏾♂️ to get a fast start when jumping off the block so it can't be all about cardio unless you swim uncompetitivly & for fun
I have never been to the gym and i just swim a lot and i would say i have sort of that physique
Playing basketball from a young age definitely does increase or help with height
And why is everyone trying to tell you what's best? Everything has its place, including body type, its what you aim for that counts.
I dunno man, before basketball, I was a 5'5" Jewish political commenter. After basketball, I'm Lebron James.
This dude is the type to say that bumblebees are scarier than wasps because they’re bigger and they have a stinger (even tho they are less likely to actually sting someome than a wasp lol)
Sean you are wrong on this one. Sprint swimming is similar to sprint running.
Swimmers muscles are long, body builders muscles are bulky.
Nah, my girlfriend who did fitness had a boxy build. She had no waist at all. After getting injured and having an operation, she took up swimming. She now has that V shape with a hourglass waist
I was a swimmer in high school and this is all very true. The people who excelled the most were tall and had a v shaped anatomy. Not to say that you can’t excel if you don’t and that you will go pro if you do. It still depends on your practice and workout regimens.
When he said the intro, I thought he was comparing swimming with gymnastics, which is another type of physique that is highly coveted.
it's two different goals. comparing them is just another 'my dick is bigger than yours'
"Maybe I'm wrong, but I've seen kids with V-shaped bodies in the training pool multiple times. I used to go to the gym regularly, but I couldn't train for two weeks and ended up giving up because my body couldn't handle it. Later, I joined the training pool and started swimming almost 2 km freestyle every day. After that, I went back to the gym, and it was surprisingly easy
Bro literally smashed it in one minute 😅
As a swimmer myself, I agree. They say "we don't have a swimmer's body because we swim, we swim because we have a swimmer's body". Also, I've seen some videos of that gay and… By how he swims, I don't think he actually swims
Wrong
I always thought that playing basketball makes you tall😦
In short: GENETIC
I'll be honest, the first guy doesn't look like a swimmer (swam and did water polo competitively for over 11 years).
how to train for swimmer physique without pool training.
I was a competitive swimmer for 15 years. Weight training was an integral part of my daily training regimen.
All of these people are morons…. People just workout how ever you want and eat good.. Stop listening to these wastes .. They make videos because of how insecure they are about themselves.. It’s a mechanism that tells them they are worth something…😂😂
Im a swimmer and actually not lifting weights swimming makes you thinner…
Bro forgot abs arent made in the pool but in the kitchen
also swimming is not good cardio unless you are a good swimmer.
Swimmers r better
This guy’s sinking to the bottom of the pool. That is not a swimmer’s physique. You dont want that much muscle mass in swimming to begin with. Itll slow you down and its metabolically inefficient for the sport
