Applesauce Banana Bread - The Southern Lady Cooks

Applesauce banana bread is one of our favorite banana bread recipes because it is so moist, keeps well for several days in a cool spot or refrigerated, and is wonderful with your morning coffee or as a snack with milk anytime.  The recipe can be doubled to make 2 loaves and children love it as well as adults. We love banana bread and make it at least once a week!

Applesauce Banana Bread simple ingredients needed:

All-purpose flour

Baking powder

Baking soda

Salt

Eggs

Applesauce

White granulated sugar

Buttermilk

Bananas

Cooking oil (I use Canola)

You can use sweetened or unsweetened applesauce in this recipe. I used sweetened but either will work fine. You can easily add nuts too. I have made this many times, sometimes I add pecan and sometimes I don’t. This bread is really good and a wonderful way use bananas.

“I just made 2 smaller loaves, will freeze 1. I added chopped walnuts to the batter. Used regular applesauce as that’s what I had on hand. Love your recipes!”

You will also love this delicious Maple Banana Bread! Its a very popular recipe and easy to make. We have probably close to 15 banana bread recipes on our website. Just use the search box on any page to search for banana bread.

The Perfect Egg Salad Sandwich

I have strong opinions about egg salad sandwiches. Usually I take a pass. Like, if I see one on a menu, or at a deli, I choose another sandwich. Egg salad tends to be so gloppy, or too much mayo, soggy bread (yuck), or the trifecta of all three. But it doesn’t...
