If you’ve been to Boom, you know these are a fan-favourite. But did you know that we make our famous roasted tomatoes in-house? Our homemade tomatoes are fresh, healthy, and highly requested at all of our locations! Here’s everything you need to know about tomatoes.

Did you Know?

Tomatoes didn’t really exist in the Western World until the Spanish brought them to Europe in the 16th century. (It was originally the Aztecs who farmed them.)

When is Tomato Season In Ontario?

Late July through mid-September is the best time to get the most delicious tomatoes. It’s the best time to stock up so you can ‘can’ them, too!

Are Tomatoes healthy?

You bet they are! Tomatoes contain lycopene, a powerful antioxidant that reduces the risk of many types of cancer. They’ve also been shown to help lower total cholesterol.

Do they lose their flavour or health benefits when you roast them?

Definitely not! Roasting tomatoes brings out some of the greatest flavors and the health benefits remain; especially if you add in certain herbs and spices with anti-inflammatory benefits.
