There’s always a lot happening in the Columbus restaurant world! Here’s the latest:

  • Sweet Carrot owner Angela Petro announced this week that they are closing their last storefront, at 1417 W. Fifth Ave. in Grandview, and focusing instead on catering.
  • Chapman’s Eat Market was one of 50 restaurants honored in the New York Times‘ list of America’s favorite restaurants this week.
  • Honey Cup Coffee Co. announced officially that it will move into a permanent space next year when the new Lovebirds bar and music venue opens at 367 E. Hudson St.
  • Jack & Benny’s Barnstormer Diner inside the OSU Airport reopens today!
  • Uptown 51 Bar+Kitchen at 51 E. Gay St. seems to have closed. 614Now reported this week that Cafe Napolitana plans to move from its long-time High Street storefront into the Gay Street space, and update its name to Aracri on Gay, to better reflect the family name and partner business Aracri Pizzeria near campus.
  • Powell’s Nocterra Brewing has pitched plans for a second location downtown, in an old office building at 516 Maier Pl. inside the Scioto Audubon Metro Park, which is a perfect fit for their outdoors theme.
  • The operators of the Clintonville Farmers Market announced this week that it will start up a weekly indoor farmers market at the Ohio History Center, most Saturdays from December through mid-April.
  • North Market Bridge Park hosts its first Taste of Market Gala fundraiser on Friday, Nov. 5.
  • Columbus Underground shared that John W. Blakely, owner of The Daily Growler locations, will open The Daily Bar at 883 N. Fourth St. in Italian Village.
  • Finally, Dirty Frank’s Hot Dog Palace announced it would return to the west side with a new location inside the Hollywood Casino, opening sometime next month.
